Two slices wheat french toast (with egg whites and skim milk for batter), raspberries and strawberry slices, fat free cottage cheese with cinnamon, 5 raw almonds and a few chocolate chips. To drink: non fat iced chai!
Here is my dinner from tonight and guess what? This entire meal is only 100 calories! Yes… 100! This large plate of spaghetti is only 100 calories you ask? Yep! With Shirataki Tofu Noodles :) I ate the whole bag which is 2 servings (each serving is 20 calories) so that was 40, then I added about 45 calories of tomato pasta sauce and 2 teaspoons of grated Parmesan cheese.
Ugh I love Shirataki noodles: Gluten free, vegan, and guilt free :) Have a good day
flax crackers & ‘flat breads’ :) :) I NEED to try these they are on the top of my to make list - just a little busy lately. May make some for me to pack with for the brewer game I will be going to this Friday, tailgate snacks are always unhealthy may as well bring something healthy for me to enjoy, and my friends are welcome to share them with me if they’d like!
Ok so this video is a little cringy and not put together very well buuut it has a very valid point! Watch it! It has to do with overestimating your portion sizes… Worth watching if you are at all interested in weight loss or nutrition. I need a food scale so bad.
Ok now that Summer is here I am CRAVING ice cream… and my ALL TIME FAVORITE ice cream is Cherry Garcia. So I’m trying to think of healthier ways to indulge this summer… this smoothie looks worth trying :)
One site that has really aided me in my weight loss journey and more than anything has opened my eyes to the whole “Toxic body = toxic mind” thing is THIS site right here. It has made me realize my body is my temple and I should treat it with respect and there are just so many benefits.
I mean just cutting caffeine, fast food and for the most part all forms of processed food from my diet has helped incredibly with my wellness and well being. I used to suffer mild depression and felt lonely often but I can honestly tell you guys right now I am in a better place in my life than I ever have been and it is hard for me to even remember those feelings of sadness I once experienced. I am genuinely so happy and I know I have changes in eating patterns/etc to thank for it all. On top of that my skin is flawless now and I no longer get neck/back pains ever. Oh and of course I’ve lost a little over 30 pounds :) !!!
Some of you have asked me for some tips on losing weight in general and I have a few things to share with you to aid you in the process if you are trying to lose weight….
I am serious when I say STAY AWAY FROM PROCESSED FOODS. By processed foods I mean junk food and anything that is a snack and found in the junk food aisle. Yesterday I posted about why this stuff is so bad for you (Addicting, leaves you unsatisfied, generally leaves you craving more and more hungry, full of junk that is terrible for your body, etc). Eating junk food will drive you insane because you will never become satisfied - you will want more and typically overeat even more. Stay away from empty calories.
Track your calories! I started using ‘MyFitnessPal’ which is an app for smartphones and also has a website for those without smartphone access. You can set up information about how much weight you want to lose/etc and they will provide a calorie goal for you: I’m telling you the weight FALLS off and it is great to really be aware of how much you are eating. Sometimes certain people get lazy or just prefer the ignorance of knowing how many calories they are eating but seriously this WILL work and the weight WILL fall off. Also track your exercise with this.
Watch your sugar intake! This will spike your insulin and then followed by drop in insulin. This will make you tired and hungry: this will make you overeat. Then you will likely eat items with more high sugar and the cycle repeats, often leading to a binge (you may not even realize when you are binging, by binge I mean mindless eating). On MyFitnessPal they have set up a sugar intake goal for me and I really try to stick in my sugar intake goal which is generally around 30 g of sugar. It is hard and even just eating two bananas a day could put you over which is why a lot of dieters make the mistake of eating way too much fruit - yes it is healthy but keep in mind it is like nature’s candy, it has a lot of sugar.
I really want to try Shirataki Noodles! They have anywhere from 0-20 calories per serving! They are pretty difficult to find but I am hoping the Whole Foods store near me has them! I’ll let you know my opinions after I find/try them out!
Whole grain flaxseed bread, toasted, with avocado and egg whites and some turkey bacon as an open face sandwich would be a great way to start out your day or a blt revamped for lunch :)
